The foundation is finished, and it's a firm one!

Two Layers Complete

Uncle Daniel got his next shipment of Legos the other day. He and MyLove started on a very firm and sturdy foundation. Here is a pic of Chewy and Han in the cockpit:

Here they are working so intently. Actually, Uncle was in rare form this night. He was passionately sharing his disdain for fixed judging at the Beijing Olympics for the Women's All-Around Gymnastics. He wanted Nastia Liukin to win, and she did. Also, he was telling us how against gun-control he is. It was such a fun and hilarious night.

Smiles, Grins and Laughter

Martini is a boy after my own heart.

I was so amazed that Martini had seriously looked at the color. Cristina had her signature sheepish grin while looking out of the corner of her eye. The men definitely were all together on the color. In Cristina's defense the Millennium Falcon actually does look grey much of the time, but it is just due to how light reflects off of it.

Cristina has done so much to chronicle all of this, and it just makes me happy that this is a family affair.

Will be buying the next lot of plates for the foundation next month.

Can You Dye Legos?

Currently, we are on a mission to discover if and how you dye Legos a different color. We are looking to give white Legos an off-white or egg-shell color so that the white is a bit weathered looking. Will post what we find next.

White Base Color

So, Uncle Daniel laid out his first shipment of Legos in front of Martini and asked,

"Martini, what color do you want the Millennium Falcon to be? This dark blue-grey color, light blue-grey, dark grey, light grey, or white?"

"Mmmmmmm. This one." He says pointing to the white. Of course this excited Uncle Daniel, the Star Wars purist.

"So, you want the whole Millennium Falcon to be white? Not the light grey?" I ask, just to be sure. I thought the Millennium Falcon looked grey in New Hope. But, what do I know?

"No, I like the white." Martini replies.

Well, I was far outnumbered. MyLove (Martin), Uncle Daniel and Martini all "knew" that the Millennium Falcon was white, it just had a weathered look. I guess I missed it. So, white it is!
